Where did Individual Responsibility Go?

Where did Individual Responsibility Go?
We must hope and pray that our individual freedoms are sufficiently returned to us when these “Obamanistas” are voted out of office as soon as possible. Then we will be able to focus on improving Health Care in this country as well as dismantling the huge government that has been created against the will of a majority of our citizens. Absent the freedoms that our forefathers enjoyed, health care of any meaningful quality will only be a dream if we do not restore our freedoms. This statement begs the question “Why did the American people fall for empty promises of meaningful change and let our freedoms disappear in the last election?”

The plain truth is politicians learned if they promised “gifts” for everyone in exchange for their vote, they would be elected. If, once in office the gifts proved too expensive and impractical to give out, they could always blame other politicians for blocking the effort to provide these gifts. Can you say “good intentions”? The American people have become suckers for politicians with good intentions. Never mind the stupid and inane promises made. The end result is that after years and years of elected officials making promises, we have elected politicians that take advantage of our greed to perpetuate their tenure in office.

Every bill passed by congress looks like a Christmas tree. For instance, congress may vote on a bill to fund our military effort in Iraq, but a majority of the hundreds of amendments will be for pet projects that look good back home for silly things like, “a million dollars to study the sex life of mules in Missouri”, or “a million dollars to study how to grow bigger blueberries in Florida”. The end result is a bill that funds the military effort in Iraq, but is bloated with amendments that would never see the light of day in congress if left to stand on their own merits. It is not hard to picture all the wheeling and dealing that goes on in the halls of congress that ought to be illegal because they are spending our money wastefully. It is not their money! The sad news is that pea-brained voters keep rewarding the re-election of politicians that are masterful at lining their own pockets and buying votes at the same time with vacuous promises.

It is really sad to see so many Americans unwilling to accept responsibility for providing their own needs, or for taking care of their own family. These people are so lazy they think whatever they desire should be provided by others, in particular, government. This selfish, me first, attitude is exactly why we have a crisis in this country because sixty million voters elected a socialist, communist, progressive, or certainly a liberal President in the last election.

The absolute truth is we live in a country where we are free to succeed as much as we want, or we can fail to succeed if that is our fate. And never forget that even failure now can be overcome with diligent hard work and sweat from your own efforts. Government should stay out of your way and let you do what you need to do to be successful even if it takes learning from a couple of failures. It is not the responsibility of government to do anything for you, except stay out of the way. Unfortunately, in the last election sixty million people forgot this absolute truth about life.

It is also unfortunate that sixty million people did not understand that one’s individual health is determined by one’s DNA and life style. Good individual health cannot be guaranteed by an insurance health policy, or by a doctor, or by taking drugs, or by a hospital. The state of one’s health is solely determined by you, period. When people begin understanding this fact we will be able to get an intrusive government out of our lives and be healthier and more prosperous because of it.

I am determined to keep “preaching” what I know to be the truth about health care, knowing full well that many will disagree. Life is not always easy, and many have a hard time accepting the truth. I know this because I spent years in the industry learning the truth about health care, and have written books about what I have learned. I know that too many people are very reluctant to listen to the truth and do not always want to believe the truth. This attitude has got to change if we want good health and good health care.
