So how is it that my April 2008 article "Investment Politics: Jobs, The Economy, and Social Security" found its way to Ms. Napolitano's Political Blog? Why did some "George" think that it was "postable" over two years later? And why on a Homeland Security blog?
The article describes job creating, economy boosting, and congress frightening changes to the Social Security System --- Econ 101 changes far too simple to ever see the light of day in Washington. Perhaps blogger George was equating Homeland Security to Financial Security. Hmmm. Good point, George.
Social Security Reform is essential to the financial security of every American, regardless of politics. Right now the infamous "trust fund" is a black hole that politicians suck your money out of to finance nearly everything else. Dozens of viable reform plans are out there, waiting to be considered --- the SSRIA is just one of the easier ones to implement in our lifetime.
Our president (yes, the President of the United States) incorrectly equates "reform" to handing our money to Wall Street executives via the stock market. Eloquence can't totally obfuscate blatant political posturing. Someone should tell him about deferred, fixed income, annuities.
You owe it to yourself to take your money back from Congress and hand it over to trustees who know how to manage it. Let Congress watch the trustees; they are grossly unqualified to manage our money.
Survey Question: How many politicians, political appointees, and/or regulators does it take to change a light bulb?
