Home Site and Dream Weaver Extended Search with Regular Expressions is a good way to manage your code. This is a quick reference on how to find relative html references to images, form actions and links and replace them with absolute references.
The extended search and replace functionality built into Home Site and Dream Weaver is one of the most powerful functions I use in my coding. It allows a simple, yet effective way to make sweeping corrections to code with a few simple clicks. Here is how to replace the form action tag values that aren't absolute (file reference only) to an absolute value, as in "file_name.cfm" to "/file_name.cfm".
Click on extended replace, make sure the Regular Expressions checkbox is checked and enter
form action="[^h/]
as what will be replaced and
form action="/
as what it will be replaced with.
It is best to do and extended find first to check and make sure there are no other possibilities. For example, the above changes are applicable to actions not starting with an h or a forward slash, but it won't check for the pound sign and other charactors.This will check for all three:
form action="[^h/#]
Here's the global check for absolute referencing of image files in your html:
src="[^h/]
This is good if you want to replace relative references like
src="images/filename.jpg" or
href="[^h/]
to find potential problems with your anchor tags.
