A holiday in New England is a time to discover and experience the sights, sounds, natural beauty and heritage of the region. The distinctive seasons of New England and the stunning fall foliage attracts visitors from August right up until October. Unsurprisingly this is one of the busiest times of the year to visit as people rave about the stunning beauty and colourful changing hues of the landscape.

The sheer variety of landscapes in New England is impressive ranging from mountains and coastal towns to vineyards and forests. The region presents four seasonal personalities taking you through from summer, to autumn, winter and spring. During the summer months visitors can explore long sandy beaches, enjoy the incandescent sight of gold and orange blanket fall foliage, ski during the winter and go shopping or take advantage of the cool weather for countryside hikes. New England has six states which much like the seasons, each have their own character.

Rhode Island is only 37 miles wide and 48 miles deep. Nicknamed ‘Little Rhody’ it is the USA’s smallest state. Despite its size the state resides over 400 miles of coastline. The Ocean State is famous for its seaside beauty and tradition for sailing. It has a rich aristocratic history, America’s Gilded Age mansions and gardens of Newport, the legacy of industrial barons of the 19th Century. Providence and Newport are two of the largest cities in New England.

The capital city of Providence has undergone somewhat of a rebirth since the 1990’s. The city is steeped in heritage and has one of the best universities in New England, Brown University. Benefit Street, the ‘Mile of History’ is lined with 18th and 19th Century houses and wonderful architecture take a stroll around Rhode Island School of Design along North Main Street and towards college hill and the University. At the heart of the downtown metropolis are the shopping malls of; the older, Arcade and Providence Place Mall as well as some smaller shops. If you would like to explore further afield you will find the Roger Williams Park with its zoo and carousel outside of town.

There is plenty of choice for dining in Federal Hill and ‘Little Italy’ is a popular venue. New England is a world class destination and because of the size of Rhode Island, visitors can have the best of both worlds. Visit the mansions and jazz festivals of Newport and experience the culture and heritage that Providence has to offer.

For visitors there is something distinctly beautiful about this American region, rich in history and culture that makes a holiday in New England very special.

LinkedIn Recommendation: Catalina Mondello - Computer Systems Analyst at Widget Marketing - I just attended one of Teo's free eWorkshops last week and decided to hire him for my project on the spot. He had my site up and running in less than a week and pointed me to the videos on eWorkshopCourses.com to help me through the social media stuff myself. I am looking forward to doing more work with him. He's a powerhouse! - March 17, 2012, Catalina was Teo's client
