HTC Sensation & Sensation XE to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS

The Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer HTC has confirmed its plan that it will update a selection of its smartphones to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system by the end of March, 2012. The Mobile brand has announced that Sensation and Sensation XE will be the first handsets under the HTC brand to receive an update to Android 4.0 operating system that is better known as Ice Cream Sandwich. This update will followed closely by the HTC Sensation XL. The buzz is that the owners of the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE will be able to get the update to Google's latest mobile operating system first in the market by the end of March. Then it is assumed that in April HTC will upgrade its Sensation XL to ICS operating system.

In November, 2011, the company announced that it is planning to begin its rolling out the update to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) in the first quarter of 2012, and at present it has announced that it will begin the process in the month of March. The mobile brand HTC mentioned on its Facebook page, HTC has been working hard to get its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades ready, and we're excited to announce that our first round of ICS upgrades will roll out by the end of March for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE, followed soon thereafter by the HTC sensation xe.

The post comes as a good news for the owners of older HTC mobile phones because it stated that four of them - one of which was released back in 2010, will also be getting Android 4.0 ICS later in this year. In the post, HTC also stated, "In addition, we can confirm Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades will be coming later this year to the HTC Evo 3D, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S and HTC Desire HD. Stay tuned for more updates on Ice Cream Sandwich releases in the coming weeks.”

However, the mobile analysts are of the opinion that it is unfortunate that the brand has not added HTC Flyer in its list of handsets to be upgraded to ICS OS. The Flyer is one and only tablet from the manufacturer. HTC has upgraded its tablet to Android 3.2 Honeycomb before Christmas last year, so there is still a possibility that the company will move it onto Android 4.0 ICS too.
