Potomac Point Vineyard and Winery is quickly becoming one of the premiere destinations for the Virginia Wine aficionado.
Located just south of the Washington, DC beltway in an area of North Stafford known as Widewater, Potomac Point is one of our favorite wineries. Owned by Cindi and Skip Causey, they’ve created a wonderful getaway based on a Tuscan Villa that has something for everybody.
Winemaker Simone has done a remarkable job creating an array of fine award winning wines. Two of my favorites are the Chardonnay Reserve and the Heritage, which is a Bordeaux style red. After a stop in the tasting room, I’m sure you’ll find more than just two to take home.
Also, be sure to bring an appetite. Chef Duane Keller has created a Mediterranean style bistro menu that will simply amaze you. Grab a bottle of your new favorite wine, find a table in the courtyard, and enjoy a relaxing world class experience.
There are a number of places from ‘social’ to ‘secluded’ to converse with friends, enjoy fine nibbles, and of course, your favorite glass of wine. For autumns cooler temperatures find a spot in the aforementioned D’vine room with the toasty fireplace and comfortable sofas.
On nicer days head for the stone floored courtyard where the serene sounds of nature and the dribbling fountain are sure to heighten the moment. There is also a balcony area upstairs with ample seating that overlooks the courtyard, and a veranda off of the Richland Ballroom that provides great views of the young vines.
It's a great way to enjoy the day! Hope to see you there soon!
