Activities and adventures are found throughout New Hampshire along with some very beautiful views. No matter what year you travel to New Hampshire you will find a variety of attractions to choose from. Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and skiing are just a few of the recreational activities you can find in New Hampshire. The largest city in the state is Manchester which as a vibrant arts community and educational institutions for visitors to tour. The Southern region of New Hampshire has many beautiful beaches including the Hampton Beach area which is well known. The Mount Washington region offers excellent ski resorts in the winter. And in the summer boating, fishing and lake tours can be found on the New Hampshire Lakes.
The city of Manchester started as a major cotton produced in the nineteenth century and the former mills that made the city prosper have now been renovated into a variety of businesses, shops, restaurants, art studios and museums. An excellent collection of different artworks can be found at the Currier Gallery of Art which has glassware, furniture, paintings and other forms of art. In addition, Manchester features many educational institutions including University of New Hampshire, New Hampshire Technical College and Southern New Hampshire University. Every day of the year you can find a big name entertainer at the Verizon Wireless Arena which has ten thousand seats. Then there is the Palace Theatre which gives a historic feel to your performance with a variety of performances.
The state capital of New Hampshire is Concord and it also have several attractions worth visiting. There is the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium with interactive exhibits and a forty food domed theater built in honor of the schoolteacher from New Hampshire who died in the space shuttle Challenger disaster. When it comes to performing arts there is the Capitol Center for the Arts which offers entertainment such as music, opera, theater and dance. Two popular museums are the Museum of New Hampshire History and the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum. New Hampshires largest developed state park is located in the southeast of the city, the Bear Brook State Park. Here you can find a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, biking and swimming. The park also has a museum that is good for visitors to learn about the natural and human history of New Hampshire and the United States.
An excellent place to stay while in New Hampshire is the bed and breakfast Adair which is in Bethlehem. It is a relatively new mansion built in the White Mountain in the late 1920s, but it has been renovated with excellent elegance. The bed and breakfast is located within a back corner of the White Mountains and offers excellent dinning options as well as mountain activities and golf.
