When you judge others, are you working with Christ's vision? Remember Madolf and try to figure out what he represented before we all knew he was a crook. What did he say? How did he act? Who was he before he got caught, really? Most (I believe) people fall into these failures becuase they are not close enough to God to see the truth.
Examine yourself against the following Bible wisdom and decide for yourself whether you are worthy of God's vision. This is an exercice I use frequently to keep myself on God's path. I am not and will most likely never be perfect, but I strive for perfection every day.
Optimism:
- But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. - Jeremiah 17:7
- "For I know what plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
- Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. - Proverbs 13:12
- And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13
- There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. - Proverbs 23:18
- Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. - Romans 12:12
- Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. - Hebrews 11:1
Pride:
- Look at every proud man and humble him, crush the wicked where they stand. - Job 40:12
- You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your commands. - Psalms 119:21
- When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. - Proverbs 11:2
- Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. - Proverbs 16:18-19
- For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. - Matthew 23:12
- Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. - 1 Corinthians 13:4
- But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. - James 4:6
Humility:
- And Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. - Matthew 18:5
- But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." - James 4:6 (God gives us grace. Humility is social graces)
- He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. - Proverbs 3:34 (re: politicians)
- For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. - Psalms 149:4
- The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. - Psalms 147:6
- Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life. - Proverbs 22:4
- Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips. - Proverbs 27:2 (re: referral marketing)
- He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. - Luke 1:52
- If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. - 2 Corinthians 11:30
- Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life. - Proverbs 22:4
- Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips. - Proverbs 27:2 (This is the definition of referral marketing.)
- He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. - Luke 1:52
- If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. - 2 Corinthians 11:30
Understanding:
- Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding? - Job 12:12 (respect and learn understanding from the aged)
Parents:

- Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. - Proverbs 4:1
- A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother. - Proverbs 10:1
Children:
- Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." - Matthew 19:14 (a child may not know Jesus' name, but that's ok)
- Matthew 18:5 (people may find Jesus through other names. It is not my place to force my vision of Jesus on others. Remember Pride. Remember Humility. Remember Understanding. If another loves and is in God's grace, it is good. Build a relationship with this person and learn - be humble, not proud and gain understanding. I cannot know everything. This is where faith applies.)
