I am happy to announce the release of my first published book For The Best available for $8.99 at lulu.com and other book retailers. For The Best is an easy read at only 59 pages in digest form but, I would still classify it as a novel. One of my dilemmas in describing the book is the fact that there are many combined styles of writing within it. Some reviewers have stated it reads like a movie script. While not intentionally written as a script, I would love to see it produced as a movie.
My goal in creating the book was to use literary techniques sparingly as not to distract from the plot. For example, some details were intentionally left vague where as other details about the characters and surroundings were expressed in more literary detail. I also took liberties with the time line in certain places for dramatic effect. I think this is one of the reasons some reviewers have expressed interest in it as a movie script. This book is centered more around the plot than over-expressed details or lengthy character development.
I have to be careful about revealing too much about the story in this article because the feedback I have received so far indicates that the readers did find the story unusual and everyone seemed to like the surprise ending. It is difficult to start a synopsis of the story without giving too much away. I think I should state, however, that this story is written for adults and is not a children’s book. The themes and topics covered, as well as some of the language, are meant for matures audiences only and would not be suitable for a child under thirteen.
With that said, this is not a graphic romance novel and there are no erotic scenes within it. That’s all I should really say as to not give anything away. I hope everyone enjoys the book and I look forward to your reviews.
